Edge Compute

Edge Compute is Portainer's capability set for centrally managing container environments outside of your primary network, for example on remote sites or factory floors.

Edge Agents connect outbound to the Portainer Server, meaning no inbound ports need to be opened on remote devices, improving security and firewall compatibility.

The following sections describe how to manage Edge Compute environments using menu options available in the Portainer Server.

This functionality requires you to enable Edge Compute features.
