# Environments not loading with Docker Engine 29.0.0

#### Issue Description

Docker Engine 29.0.0 introduced breaking changes that prevented Portainer from connecting to Docker Standalone environments.

#### Fix

Update Portainer to versions 2.33.5 LTS / 2.36.0 STS or above. 

#### Workaround 

A temporary workaround was found by our community and is detailed under [GitHub Issue 12925](https://github.com/portainer/portainer/issues/12925#issuecomment-3516549977).
